Diablada de Píllaro Mask 02

Inspired by the popular Diablada de Píllaro, an Ecuadorian small town´s new year´s celebration where people wear devilish masks to mocking and celebrating the Devil, antagonist for the Catholic Church, also a name given to the locals back in the 1800's and a clear opposition to the religion they were imposed after the decay of the Inca Empire.
