Inspired by the popular Diablada de Píllaro, an Ecuadorian small town´s new year´s celebration where people wear devilish masks to mocking and celebrating the Devil, antagonist for the Catholic Church, also a name given to the locals back in the 1800's and a clear opposition to the religion they were imposed after the decay of the Inca Empire.
Each neighborhood presents themselves in the middle of the plaza, dancing and drinking along with the tourists and other neighbors, from the midday until the sunset, presenting their art, reminding Ecuadorians what are our roots, and where we come from.
